Sooo...It's been awhile aye? I've been away for some time but I'm back in the saddle again (I'm BAAACK!) Sorry about that. So my internet decided to crap out on me for the past couple of days. I FINALLY got it fixed, but I haven't been able to do anything productive with the blog or my youtube channel. I actually got some use out of the PDAnet application (which is awesome) but I could only do small things because I don't want AT&T calling me up and asking why I'm using so much data :D

Ipod Nano Contest Update

So if you didn't know, I've had a contest running for the past week or so. Basically, once I got to 200 subscribers on my youtube channel, I would give away the nano to 1 of the 200. Well, in my opinion, It's taking too long, and I'm ready to make someone happy :)

I just reached 100 subscribers tonight and that is the cutoff. I'm sorry to anyone who wasn't between 1-100, but keep subscribing if you like my videos! I will surely have more contests in the future! I'll be doing the video for the winner tomorrow, so good luck to you all!

Appshare and Installous

Just did a video today on Appshare and Installous. These two applications allow you to downloaded cracked IPA's and install them straight to your iPhone without using a computer. 2.2 Beta 1 Firmware

Firmware 2.2 Beta was said to be released to select devs for testing! What will 2.2 include? Probably nothing you really want, but it's still news. When will apple give us copy and paste? push notification? Who knows, but with each firmware comes hope.

By the way, notes from Apple state that this firmware release is for compatibility testing only, so it's probably nothing special.

It's here! This version of Installer is said to be much better than the last versions. Resumable file transfers, lighter CPU usage, and other bug fixes are said to be released in this version. Go ahead and download the update to enjoy the new features! Maybe installer can reclaim it's name in the jailbreak scene.....Cydia has done a good job at taking it away from them.

Hidden matrix code in our iPhones?

Probably just an Apple watermark of some sort. Some guy was messing around with his camera in night vision mode and when pointed the camera to his iPhone, this barcode image showed up. Some are saying it's just the IMEI or Serial number for the iPhone, but can we be sure? Are aliens taking over? Is Steve Jobs and alien? We'll find out soon enough...

Jailbroken on 2.1 (Windows User)

I'm Pwned! I just got finished jailbreaking the 2.1 firmware for my iPhone on Windows. Everything works perfectly except for Snapture :( but they are currently working on a fix. If you are interested in jailbreaking your 2.1 firmware and you are a Windows user then I guarantee you this is the easiest guide you will find. Swirly MMS 1.2 has been released for the 2.x iPhone firmware. Some people are shouting for joy while others are crying their eyes out. Seems that T-mobile users in the USA have no problem getting this to work while AT&T users are finding it impossible to even send out one picture message. Some people are saying that it is impossible for AT&T users to send MMS and we should give up forever, but are they right? Anyway, check out Swirly MMS for yourself if you'd like. Iphone Modem

Remember Netshare? Still a user? Well here comes something better. The guys over at www.iphonemodem.com have developed an application that is very similar to Netshare, only 10 times easier. You simply grab the app from Cydia, go to iphonemodem.com and download the helper app, load them and pair them, and viola! You are tethering from your iPhone. Are there any restrictions? Well, currently, their helper app is only compatible with MacOS 10.5. If you are using any other OS then you will have to create a Wifi network between your iPhone and computer manually (which defeats the purpose of easy.) They are currently working on porting their helper app over to Windows and other OS's though. If you are feeling generous then head over to their website and let them know you are very interested in them porting the helper app to other OS's.

Well it didn't take long did it? I must note that this is for MAC USERS ONLY at the moment. Us PC people will have to wait until Winpwn is released. There are a couple ways of jailbreaking if you are a windows user, but it's complicated and dirty so why not wait for the official Winpwn release. If you are a Mac user then you can check out the links below to get Quickpwn or Pwnagetool and start jailbreaking!

2.1 is here. Get ready for fewer dropped calls, extended battery life, and faster back ups (hopefully.) I won't be downloading this update because I'm waiting for devs to jailbreak it. Iphone Firmware 2.1 announced

Steve Jobs announced that the iPhone 2.1 firmware will be released to the public this Friday. It supposedly fixes "many" bugs including app crashes (no word on text lag yet.) It also speeds up the back up process and lengthens battery life. I haven't decided if I am going to update yet. I love all the jailbroken features so I might just wait until a team breaks this version to update.

Spore Origins Released

That's right, it's here. Spore Origins has been a highly anticipated game (for PC and the iPhone) and it's finally here. Check out the app store to grab a copy. I just purchased the PC version today and have been playing literally all day. It's a fun game and I'm sure Spore Origins is a good title as well. Categories 2.11

Categories has been updated yet again. This update seems to take care of pretty much every main issue that the app had. There are still some cosmetic things that the dev is working on though. Make sure you update to 2.11 today! The changes that have been made are below:

Update: 2.11 is out to fix bug in 2.10 where you could not add icons to folder anymore. Sorry everyone.

Settings app: Added ability to rename a folder once created. Just select edit and tap the row to rename.
Settings app: Added ability to change icon once selected.
Settings app: Cleaned up the add icon GUI
Settings app: Made help and changelog built in so they no longer close out Categories and load Safari.
Settings app: Fixed issue where if maps app is hidden it couldnt be launched from apps. This had to move off of restrictions and into the old Info.plist method.
Settings app: Added ability for icons to also be scanned in /var/mobile/Media/Categories/Icons so now users can create icon addon packs. (Note a max of 4096 icons is supported).

Launcher: Now supports one winterboard theme. (Winterboard supports themes in layers, I cannot do that here). You can select one theme with icons. If you uninstall the theme, you will need to change it manually as there will be no icons for the themed apps at that time. (Trying to change this would result in longer load times so it’s not worth it).
Launcher: Added option for left/right scrolling and made it default.
Launcher: Added ability to change font color.
Launcher: Added ability to select icon row count (1 - 4)
Launcher: Added ability to use background.png. You can copy your own background in! This is currently black which is in place of the “use black background” option. But now you can replace this with your own image if you want to have your own background. Use a 320×480 png.

Cycorder: Now with audio!

So the Cycorder devs just released an update that gives the application audio. Cycorder is probably the best video recorder for the iPhone (in my opinion.) Although the file sizes are rather large, the videos are of good quality and the audio is pretty crisp as well. You can get Cycorder from Cydia, so go grab it! EA annouces release date for Spore

Today EA announced the release date for Spore! Very exciting because this game will probably one of the better games on the iPhone. Not sure of the price yet, but I would guess it will be $9.99 in the App Store. So get ready to guide your ugly, many-eyed creature around via accelerometer on September 7th. I'll most likely be purchasing the game and then posting a video review on the YouTube channel. Remember to check it out and subscribe please!

Iskin has just introduced Solo, a new low profile case that combines the best of the hardcase world while still providing that softcase slim fit. The cases look pretty nice I would have to say. If I hadn't just ordered the Switcheasy Neo then I would probably give this one a try. I have had a few cases from Iskin in the past for my Ipod devices and I have always sworn by their cases. You can probably count on the Solo being just as great as Iskin's other protection accessories. Chcek out my YouTube channel if you haven't yet. Categories 2.00b! :D

Bigboss just released Categories 2.00b for the 2.x iPhone software. This application allows you to organize your apps by placing them in folders that you can create on the springboard. VERY handy when you have a ton of apps that are spread out over many pages. I made a Games folder and a Utilities folder and it brought my apps down to about 1 page and 4 icons. Swirly MMS coming to 2.x!

As you all know (or are about to find out.) Swirly MMS was released for the iPhone earlier this year and became the greatest (and for the most part, only) MMS application on the iPhone. Well the devs that created it are finally porting it for the 2.x software! Woo! I was just having problems sending a friend a picture and then I read this news, so I'm very excited. I'll try to stay updated as much as possible on this and when it's finally released, I'll be making a video to post up on my YouTube channel, so check it out!

Everyone is hoping for some sort of announcement regarding bug fixes for the iPhone 2.0 software. Will this event be when they do that? Or will it just be strictly Ipod announcements? I am not very interested in the Ipod announcements myself, but I really hope that they give us some sort of word on a new firmware update for the iPhone. I jailbroke my 2.0.2 software and I have loved it everyday since then....third party software working better than the official firmware? Come on Apple, you can do better than that.
